Julian Kirschler

born 1964, lives and works
in Pforzheim and Berlin

Julian Kirschler graduated from the Bayerische Staatslehranstalt für Photographie, Munich. He then worked as an assistant to several photographers, including the renowned photojournalist for international racing series, Rainer Schlegelmilch. The experience he gained photographing from a moving car has shaped his method of photography to this day. Today, Julian Kirschler takes his FLOWshots from helicopters, paragliders, boats, cars or pedelecs, among other places. Since 2018, he has been working exclusively on the realisation of novel, immersive art and exhibition concepts and installations. For this purpose, he initiated the artist platform YOU ARE HERE:@///wolken.kuckucks.heim | cloud.cuckoo.land LAB, which realises photographs, videos and digital installations with specially composed soundscapes. His work as a photographer has taken him across Europe in recent years, from Iceland, to the Bregenz Forest, to Cornwall ... and to the metropolises of Amsterdam, Paris, Vienna, Hamburg, Berlin and numerous other destinations.
